New Orleans’ new, outdoor patio light system, known as Coors Light, will be available for a limited time on Friday.
Coors Light is one of several outdoor light installations being offered by outdoor lighting companies to help combat the spread of the coronavirus, which has killed more than 5,000 people worldwide and left more than 4 million homeless.
According to the company’s website, the Coors light will be the first outdoor light installation in New Orleans since 2010, when a similar project called Outdoor Lights for the Homeless was installed in the French Quarter.
The Coors Lights for The Homeless installation, located in the New Orleans neighborhood of Canal Street, is a two-story building with a giant sign above the entrance saying “NO LIGHTS IN THE NEW ORLEANS PARADISE.”
Coors’ spokesperson told The Associated Press that the company has been working with city officials to find a temporary location to install the lights.
