Northern Light’s Luke Clark: ‘I feel like I’m back in the spotlight’

Clark is back in action for the Blues this weekend after spending much of last season out on loan to Reading.

After a couple of months on loan, Clark will be back with the Blues in time for the Boxing Day clash with Leicester.

The 19-year-old played a key role in their victory over the Championship leaders last season, helping them get a point from their opening game in the Premier League.

Clark has played at right-back for Northern Light, starting the last five games in the middle of the park, and he has also made three appearances on the left wing for the team.

He has played in nine of their 14 matches since his loan move, and his presence is vital to the Blues’ attack, with a goal scored and an assist on his CV.

“Luke is one of those players you can’t put your faith in, because he’s a really good player,” said Blues boss Darren Ferguson.

“When he’s fit, he’s really good.

He’s got the ability to do a job and get a goal and do something special, but he’s also been a big part of us scoring goals.

Luke is an exciting player who we’ve got on loan with Reading for a couple months and we’re really happy to have him back and get him playing in our games.

With all of the injuries we’ve had over the last couple of weeks, he gives us an option up front.”

He’s had some good games so far this season and he’ll be a really positive influence for the side.

As we look forward to Leicester, we want to give Luke an opportunity to get playing again.
